How do you obtain your products?
Many of the men and women responsible for the collection of the Saffron are extremely underpaid by the large importing corporations, mainly from Spain, which currently buy their products. We deal with the workers directly so they receive fair profits for their labor.
The same holds true for the argan oil. The production of the oil is controlled by about nine womens cooperatives from the Berber tribe. My family and I, who are of direct Berber descent, understand the culture and language, and we know of the hardship these women endure. The average pay for the women is about $1.18 per day and most of the profits are taken by the men who collect the oil and sell it in town. We eventually hope to improve on the harsh and cruel work environment these women experience. Through this direct family link to the Berber tribe, we are able to obtain the oil in its purest and most organic form.
